Background in electrical and computer engineering complements firm’s IP protection services in emerging technologies

Troy, Mich.— July 31, 2023—Intellectual property law firm Fishman Stewart PLLC is pleased to announce that Gregory M. Bussell has returned to the firm as an associate attorney. He was previously with the firm from 2017 to 2021. Before coming back to Fishman Stewart, Bussell gained additional experience at a mid-size law firm in Ohio on technologies related to natural language processing and quantum computing and also served as a bar exam instructor for aspiring attorneys.
While at Fishman Stewart, Bussell developed IP expertise related to a variety of computer software/hardware, artificial intelligence (AI), and other mechanical and electrical technologies. He prepared and prosecuted U.S. utility patent applications in the electrical, mechanical, and software arts, which encompassed autonomous vehicle, seat and seat-track assembly, electrical component, electrical house, fluid control system, household appliance, and medical device applications.

Bussell received his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2017 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, with a concentration in computer engineering, also from the University of Detroit Mercy. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 2017 and is a member of the American Bar Association.
