Partnering with clients of all sizes, from solo practitioners and startups to Fortune 500 companies, Michael procures, defends, and enforces patent rights and resolves IP disputes in a variety of industries, including aerospace components, medical devices, automotive seating, automotive electronics, electrical sensor and safety systems, superchargers, differentials, fueling systems, plastic containers, automotive interior components, engine controllers, engine testing equipment, digital shearography and image processing, manufacturing equipment, aluminum fencing, data center management, blockchain, autonomous vehicles, cellular communications, software, healthcare, media, real estate, and banking, among others.
Prior to joining Fishman Stewart, Michael was an attorney in the intellectual property group of a general practice AmLaw 200 law firm, where he gained incredible experience and insight into a wide range of industries and legal issues. Now practicing at an IP boutique, he leverages that experience and his business background with the efficiencies of a firm completely dedicated to the unique challenges and opportunities of IP.
Michael was on the executive board of the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA) for several years and has also been an active member of the Michigan IP Inn of Court since 2015.
When he’s not immersed in IP, Michael and his wife participate on a curling league (yes, that goofy-looking sport with the brooms and throwing rocks down sheets of ice while yelling “sweep!!!”) at the Detroit Curling Club in Ferndale.
