Juan Rodriguez is an of counsel attorney at Fishman Stewart with 20 years of legal experience. Juan’s practice focuses on maximizing IP value and opportunity to protect the creative and proprietary work of clients through patents, trademarks, litigation and strategic counsel.
With a passion for technology and the desire to gain an even deeper understanding of his clients’ work, Juan pursued a second bachelor’s degree in computer science while practicing law. This additional education granted him greater subject matter expertise and a relational understanding of work done by the scientists and engineers that he works with as clients. He has experience working with a variety of technologies, including radiopharmacology systems, biomedical devices, blockchain-based software systems, and web-based applications. In addition to technology law and intellectual property, Juan has managed various elements of in-house legal practice, including corporate compliance, marketing, finance, and operations. Juan is also bilingual and able to collaborate with individuals in both Spanish and English.
Juan holds a Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire, a Master of Laws in Transnational Law from Temple University, a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science – all from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is admitted to the Nevada and New York Bar, as well as the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Juan is an engaged member of the legal community, with memberships in the Nevada Bar’s Intellectual Property Section and Science and Technology Section, the National LGBT Bar Association and the Hispanic National Bar Association.
