In his practice, John counsels and represents a number of Fortune 500 companies, as well as mid-size and start-up organizations, and universities. He has significant experience in the automotive, plastics, aerospace, health system, medical device, advertising, and telematics fields/industries.
John is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He has been admitted to practice in the U.S. district courts in several states, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is also a longtime member of the Licensing Executive Society (LES).
Prior to joining Fishman Stewart, John was the Patent Practice Group Leader for an AmLaw 150 law firm. John also served as in-house legal counsel and Director of Intellectual Property for a prominent plastics company with both domestic and international operations. John’s background, including his years of in-house experience and more than a decade of experience as a partner and group leader of a national law firm, provides him with unique insight and expertise in connection with intellectual property and practical business considerations.
John also worked onsite at Ford Motor company in a consulting capacity with the Advance Vehicle Group and as a CAD/CAM engineer for General Dynamics, before attending law school.
As a big animal lover, John has a fairly extensive “added family.” He enjoys traveling with his family, hiking and jogging, and attending his daughters’ various volleyball, tennis and equestrian events.
