Last year, the U.S. Congress passed the Trademark Modernization Act. The resulting changes to U.S. Patent and Trademark Office practice take effect on December 18, 2021. The TMA will provide new tools to remove unused registered trademarks from the federal trademark register. The changes will also enable the USPTO to move applications through the registration process more efficiently.
