Jeong Hee Seo is an associate patent attorney at Fishman Stewart. He focuses on protecting a diverse array of technologies, including display systems, semiconductor fabrication, cellular networks, wireless networks, Internet of Things, optical communication devices, and micro-electromechanical systems.
Before becoming a patent attorney, Jeong was a technical product support engineer, assisting chip manufacturers with semiconductor fabrication equipment at their facilities. In this role, he had the opportunity to observe the latest semiconductor fabrication technologies in real time, gaining a deep appreciation for the creative efforts of inventors and the importance of protecting innovations.
Jeong is passionate about patent prosecution and has experience on both sides of the patent prosecution process. As a patent practitioner, he emphasizes the differences between the claimed inventions and prior art references, persuading patent examiners to overcome rejections. As a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), he rejected patent applications based on comprehensive prior art search results.
Jeong spent part of his youth growing up in Seoul, Korea, and is fully fluent in Korean. He also has patent experience working closely with inventors from a major Korean appliance and consumer electronics corporation while at a Korean patent law firm in Seoul. This enables him to serve as a bridge for U.S. clients seeking IP protection in Korea and for Korean clients seeking IP protection in the U.S.
Aligning with his passion for innovation and creation, he enjoys watching automotive and technology reviews on YouTube in his spare time.
